The homeowners wanted a fresh, functional basement bathroom and laundry area that would feel comfortable and inviting for visiting family—including parents and grandchildren. The existing setup felt outdated and lacked the practical storage and accessibility features they were hoping for.
To meet the homeowners’ goals, we remodeled the basement bathroom with a clean, neutral palette and thoughtful upgrades. A custom walk-in shower features large-format wall tile, a textured mosaic shower floor, and a built-in niche with contrast tile for visual interest and convenience. We installed brushed nickel fixtures throughout, including multiple grab bars, a direct handheld shower, and a corner toe ledge for easy use. Outside the shower, a frosted glass sliding door provides privacy while keeping the space feeling light and open. The new vanity includes a cultured marble countertop and integrated sink, with a framed mirror and side shelf above. We also created a more efficient laundry station with additional storage, placing it just beyond a new pocket door for a seamless transition between spaces.
The updated bathroom now feels calm, clean, and tailored to the homeowners’ lifestyle. It’s more comfortable for multi-generational use, easier to navigate, and visually appealing with timeless finishes. The improved laundry area offers more usable space, storage, and accessibility, rounding out a thoughtful basement update that will serve this family for years to come
