The homeowners were looking for a more comfortable and functional outdoor living space. Their existing patio lacked protection from bugs and weather, limiting its usability—especially important since one homeowner uses a wheelchair. Their goal was a covered, screened-in porch that felt like an extension of their home, with easy access, matching finishes, and better airflow for relaxing and entertaining outdoors.
Riverside Construction designed and built a vaulted, screened-in porch addition that blends beautifully with the existing home. The space was built on the existing concrete patio with added pier footings for support. A knee wall with matching vinyl siding helps enclose the room while allowing screens above for airflow and visibility. A scissor truss vaulted ceiling enhances the sense of space and light, while a ceiling fan and soffit lights improve comfort and function throughout the day and evening. Electrical outlets on both sides and thoughtful lighting near both exits increase accessibility and safety. A new adjacent concrete patio provides a perfect spot for grilling just steps away.
The result is a relaxing, private retreat that offers the fresh air of the outdoors without the bugs or exposure. It’s a space that’s both beautiful and practical—comfortable for everyday use and welcoming for guests. The seamless transition from indoors to outdoors, matched finishes, and clean design make this screened-in porch feel like it was always meant to be part of the home.
