Our style-conscious homeowners came to Riverside Construction looking to transform their retro 1970s bathroom into a functional, high-style space with modern amenities. The bathroom challenges included dated wallpaper, worn-out flooring, and a shower so dark and cave-like that the homeowner’s kids refused to use it.
Riverside Construction got to work coming up with a creative solution, which started with a pull and replace renovation recommendation. This affordable solution included removing all of the components and replacing them with newer materials, all in the same location and without changing the layout.
Riverside started by removing the encased shower opening, which instantly lightened up the space and eliminated the cave-like feel. Riverside installed a DreamLine Essence chrome frameless shower door with .25 inch glass and a Kohler shower barre and shower shelf in bright polished silver. The shower walls are finished in a 3×6 white subway tile with a vertical accent of Interceramic Chelsea glass tile in Herringbone white.
The vanity is custom-designed with Wellborn Select prairie-style maple cabinets in a coffee stain and topped with a Carrera Ebony cultured marble countertop. The integrated sink features a Moen single-handle faucet in a chrome finish.
Final touches for this bathroom renovation include luxury vinyl flooring and calming blue walls (Color: Rainwashed by Sherwin Williams).
