Remodeling Need

In the sought-after subdivision of University Farms, this West Lafayette homeowner reached out to Riverside Construction, ready to upgrade her builder-grade bathroom.

A spacious drop-in platform tub, which was once trendy in the early 2000s, remained underutilized, while the small and cramped shower was constantly in high demand by multiple household members.

Recognizing the need for a change, the homeowner collaborated with Riverside’s exceptional design team to explore and devise the ideal design solution for her bathroom. Together, they embarked on a journey to create a space that harmoniously blends functionality and style, tailored precisely to the homeowner’s preferences and requirements.

Design Solution

Riverside Construction started by transforming the bathroom, beginning with the removal of the oversized tub and replacing it with a generously sized shower designed with classic subway tiles. The shower’s distinct features include a spacious bench seat complete with convenient towel hooks, thoughtfully placed shower niches for easy storage, a footrest for added comfort, and stylish Delta Lahara shower fixtures in Venetian Bronze.

The seamless coordination of Emser Hexagon Mosaic tiles on the shower floor and within the shower niches flawlessly complements the timeless white subway tiles, creating a harmonious and visually striking aesthetic. Furthermore, a wide rectangular shower window was skillfully incorporated, allowing abundant natural light to permeate the space and enhancing its overall ambiance.

The exquisite new vanity has a modern farmhouse aesthetic, featuring custom Crystal cabinets in the elegant Regent door style. Painted in a refreshing Parlor Green hue, the cabinets add a touch of timeless charm to the space. Crowned with a luxurious Q Quartz Mara Blanca countertop, the vanity proudly showcases two ALFI farmhouse sinks, further accentuating the farmhouse-inspired design.

The fixtures, carefully chosen to enhance the overall ambiance, include Delta Lahara faucets in Venetian Bronze, Kichler Brinley Olde Bronze wall sconces adorned with charming Canning Jar Style Shades, and a barn door-style mirror. These elements harmoniously create a visually stunning and inviting sanctuary within the bathroom.

To maximize storage and enhance functionality, Riverside Construction skillfully incorporated a second bank of cabinetry, perfectly matching the vanity and providing ample space for storing essentials. Additionally, the inclusion of open shelving adds a touch of practicality and serves as an ideal spot for displaying decor items. The bathroom floor, laid with Daltile’s Memoir tiles in the Petal Gray shade, establishes a striking foundation. Its seamless integration with the black accents within the room creates a visually striking and cohesive design scheme, amplifying the overall aesthetic appeal of the space.

Finally, the reclaimed space where the old shower was located was transformed into a functional linen closet with a secret bookcase door.

Result

The homeowner’s delight knew no bounds upon witnessing her newly transformed primary bathroom, a space that perfectly embodied her envisioned design and surpassed all expectations.
