His & Her Primary Bathroom Remodeling in West Lafayette

Remodeling Need

The homeowners sought to update both their primary bathrooms, each serving individual preferences, while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic. These bathrooms, over 15 years old, required modern upgrades for comfort and functionality. Key concerns included outdated fixtures, lack of efficient storage, poor shower layouts, and a desire for personalized yet durable designs. Accessibility and improved lighting were also important priorities.

Design Solution

Both bathrooms were redesigned with unique features to reflect the homeowners’ specific needs while maintaining an overall theme of timeless elegance.

Her Bathroom

The layout was transformed by replacing the fiberglass shower with a spacious, fully tiled enclosure. The new design includes a toe ledge for added convenience, a large hidden niche running the width of the shower for shampoo storage, and dual showerheads with a handheld on a sliding bar. The plumbing was reconfigured to shift the shower fixtures from the exterior wall to an interior one, improving insulation and usability. Heated ceramic tile flooring in a neutral ivory tone enhances comfort, and lavender paint adds a serene touch to the space.

The vanity, a centerpiece of the room, was refreshed with new biscuit-colored undermount sinks and a quartz countertop. Brushed nickel fixtures were selected for their understated elegance. Sconce lighting on either side of the mirror, paired with a central disc light, improves visibility and complements the layered lighting design.

His Bathroom

This space mirrors the updates in "Her" bathroom, with adjustments to suit functionality. The shower layout includes a sturdy bench and an elongated niche for discreet storage. Heated flooring continues in this space, creating a unified luxury experience. The vanity, which sustained water damage, was repaired and enhanced with a matching quartz countertop and biscuit-colored sink.

For the walls, the original green paint was retained, offering a cohesive connection to the rest of the home. Thoughtful lighting updates, including sconces and a central disc light, ensure a bright and welcoming environment.

Result

The dual primary bathroom remodel provides a perfect blend of individuality and harmony. Custom showers, heated flooring, and tailored vanities elevate both spaces, delivering practicality and style. The homeowners now enjoy bathrooms that reflect their personal tastes while enhancing the overall functionality and aesthetic of their home.
