Andy Haste

Founder and President

Andy started Riverside Construction in 2008 because he loves to meet new people and help them realize their remodeling dreams. He strives to creatively find ways for his clients to turn their new space into their own… something they can be proud of and enjoy for years to come. As Riverside Construction’s President, Andy identifies and implements industry best practices that improve the customer experience. His cheerful, dedicated approach builds ongoing customer relationships and a committed team. Andy has been in the building materials industry for 14 years and has a strong working knowledge of building materials, building codes, blue print reading and estimating.

Personal Side
Andy and his wife,Trisha, are the parents of four lovely children. Andy enjoys working in the community to help make people’s lives better and serving others either through his church or other community groups.

Aaron Johnson

Aaron Johnson

Architectural Designer

As our lead designer, Aaron shows our clients the potential of their home through his design and 3-D renderings of the remodeling project. His understanding of both design and construction engineering and his attention to detail ensures all material lists and cost estimates are as complete as possible.

Personal Side
Aaron has an easy going nature and never seems to get rattled. He enjoys his time with his family, family vacations, computer games, music, camping, cooking and listening to podcasts.

Jennifer Pruim

Jennifer Pruim

Office Manager

Jennifer serves as our Office Manager. She makes sure all the paperwork on each project is organized, the bills are paid, and she handles the initial phone inquiries from those seeking more information on Riverside Construction. Jen’s great attitude, ability to work with numbers, willingness to help out, and multi-tasking skills all contribute to our efficient office operations.

“I love watching people come in with an idea about how they might like to change their home to make it more useful. I love watching them explain the problems they are facing or issues they are dealing with and then seeing how they light up as they talk about the changes they would like to make. And I love watching the project as our team takes a room apart and then creates an incredible finished product,” notes Jennifer.

Personal Side
Jennifer enjoys playing with her kids, messing with numbers, finishing a hard Sudoku puzzle, books with happy endings, laughing, and believe it or not, winter.

Kelly Grish

Designer

A graduate from Purdue University with a BA in Interior Design, a minor in Building Construction Management and a Certificate in Entrepreneurship, Kelly is an innovative, ambitious interior designer with a laser focus on service. Interior design is not just a career for Kelly – it’s a passion. It is her genuine care for Riverside clients and their needs that fuel her creativity—always working to fit the client’s wants and desires into her designs, when feasible.

Personal Side
In her free time, you can find Kelly loving on her furry friends —four friendly, adopted felines. After living in a dorm room for five years, which didn’t allow pets, she jumped on the opportunity to rescue four kittens after graduating and buying a home. Kelly enjoys working on home projects, cooking and baking.

Pete Carey

Pete Carey

Production Manager

Pete is happy to be back with Riverside Construction as a Production Manager, having worked previously for the company as a Trades Partner, Carpenter and Project Manager. Before moving to Lafayette in 2010, Pete worked with a new homebuilder in Illinois gaining valuable experience working as a general handyman, concrete installer, tile installer, and painter. Prior to that, Pete built up quite a resume working for a wide array of residential construction companies throughout the Midwest.

Personal Side
When Pete isn’t working you’ll find him spending quality time with his wife and daughter. And, he’ll grab any opportunity he can to travel—even if it’s just a small trip with his family to the corners of Indiana. Pete is also a member of the Clear River Church in Lafayette, very much involved and committed to sharing his own spiritual gifts.

Amos Brehm

Amos Brehm

Project Consultant

Starting as a skilled craftsman proficient at setting cabinets, windows and doors, rough framing, and reading blueprints, Amos was promoted to a Project Consultant. In his new role, Amos successfully communicates with clients to understand their needs, develops a project timeline and budget, and builds positive relationships with clients, vendors and staff. Amos loves working with people and particularly enjoys witnessing the exciting transformation from an old space to a new. “It gives me a great feeling of satisfaction knowing that we are improving the life of those we work for.”

Personal Side
When Amos is not working, he enjoys playing and watching soccer. He is also the proud father of three beautiful, young children and enjoys spending quality time with his wife.

Jill Clothier

Jill Clothier

Project Developer

A former business owner, kitchen/bath designer, and project designer, Jill brings over 20 years’ experience navigating and interpreting the nuances of remodeling design, with a longstanding commitment to bringing homeowners’ visions to life. She also has a BA in Interior Design from Purdue.

Jill’s primary responsibilities include planning all construction operations and scheduling intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met, acquiring equipment and material, determining needed resources, and obtaining permits and licenses. Jill’s special talent is her attention to detail and her endless pursuit of efficiency.

"Every time I see the ‘after’ photos and hear that our clients were happy, I take pride in knowing that I had a little ‘behind-the-scenes’ part in making everything go smoothly. I‘ve always preferred remodeling over new construction. There’s something about making an existing space live up to its full potential. So, it’s always exciting to see the finished project come together.”

Personal Side
Jill enjoys gardening, reading, and taking pottery classes, when scheduling permits. She also collects old floor plan books and studies them like a chef would study a cookbook.

Fun Fact
Jill has been known to draft out floor plans (by hand, on a drafting table) just for fun.

Tim O’Blenis

Tim O’Blenis

Team Lead

Tim’s career as a carpenter started in Kansas City, MO roughly eight years ago working on apartment complexes. He joined Riverside Construction in 2019 and is now a lead carpenter, doing just about anything that is asked of him.

His responsibilities include monitoring field carpenters and trades on performing construction duties, analyzing blueprints, following clients‘ specifications, completing projects within the agreed timeframe, and ensuring the highest quality and client’s satisfaction. He’s also particularly skilled at demolition, cabinet installations, framing, drywall, painting, and trim work.

“I love working outside when the weather is nice. I also enjoy installing cabinets, doing trim work, and painting. What I enjoy the most about being a carpenter, though, is taking a step back and looking at the finished product.”

Personal Side
Outside of work Tim enjoys spending time with his family. He also likes to golf, fish, travel, watch sports and spend as much time as possible outdoors. Tim’s idea of a perfect Sunday afternoon is being with his wife and daughter at home barbequing on the smoker.

Chad Ricker

Chad Ricker

Project Manager

With over 25 years of carpentry experience, Chad is no stranger to construction and remodeling. Chad’s passion for woodworking started at the age of 9, when he built his own bookcase. A master in all types of carpentry, to include cabinetry, furniture making, fine woodworking, joinery and other carpentry where exact joints and minimal margins of error are important, Chad is a welcome addition to the Riverside team. He’s known for his attention to detail, dependability and quality craftsmanship.

Personal Side
Family comes first! When Chad is not working or spending time with family, he is sport shooting, playing his guitar or using his power tools. Chad is also a treasurer for Pheasants Forever, which is a wildlife conservation group dedicated to the conservation of pheasants, quail and other wildlife through habitat improvements, public awareness, etc.

Isaiah Brehm

Isaiah Brehm

Team Lead

Every once and a while, you come across an ethical, hard-working individual who lacks experience but is right for the job and eager to learn. Isaiah was just that individual, joining Riverside Construction in 2020 with no remodeling experience. After two years of focused practice and education, he has become a skilled member of the production team.

His responsibilities include working closely with the Project Managers, leading and supervising all field carpenters and trade partners throughout a construction project. He ensures that our projects are on budget and completed within a specified amount of time.

“Riverside Construction projects are challenging and require a lot of skill. I enjoy being involved in the entire process and particularly like observing how our remodeling projects impact homeowners’ lives.”

Personal Side
When Isaiah isn’t working, he enjoys traveling the world, spending time with family, and playing soccer.

Marcos Castellano

Marcos Castellano

Carpenter

Taking an immediate interest in learning the differences in US vs. Mexican domestic architecture—casa vs. house—Marcos became enamored with residential construction. He started his career as a construction laborer and learned to hone his craft taking cues from a close mentor. After 18 years of experience, remodeling hotel rooms in downtown Chicago, doing demolitions, commercial projects and home building, Marcos is enjoying all aspects of remodeling.

Personal Side
Marcos enjoys listening to music and fishing—particularly lake fishing. When given a long weekend, he takes every opportunity to camp and play with his kids.

Brandon Curry

Brandon Curry

Carpenter

In love with building things for as long as he can remember, Brandon is a first-rate carpenter with responsibilities that include demo, framing, painting, and installing trim and cabinets. Prior to working at Riverside, Brandon worked as a general contractor focusing mainly on kitchen and bathroom remodels.

Brandon is also OSHA-certified and is known for his finish work.

Personal Side
Brandon’s favorite hobby is woodworking. If he’s not outdoors fishing, hiking or riding ATVs, you’ll find him in his workshop honing his skills. Young at heart and an advocate of youth sports, Brandon volunteers as a basketball coach in the fall and winter. We are proud of his efforts to keep children active and boost their self-confidence. High five, Brandon!

Mary Hollandbeck

Carpenter

Prior to the pandemic, Mary worked in a lab exercising her degree in Marine Biology. Post pandemic, her job changed which created an opportunity for Mary to explore a much-loved passion in carpentry working with her hands. Mary joined Riverside Construction in January 2022 and has become a welcome addition to the team. She paints, constructs, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures, particularly cabinetry, trim work, and drywall.

“I love seeing the progress that is made at the end of a workday. I also love that every day is different, often with problems that need to be solved to get the project done right.”

Personal Side
Beyond carpentry, Mary enjoys ceramics, knitting and working on at-home remodeling projects. She is a lifetime resident of Lafayette, IN, loves walking her dogs, working out, and hiking.

Fun Fact
Mary is a talented baker who frequently sells her goods to a local coffee shop.

Kevin Henson

Kevin Henson

Carpenter

Well-trained and dependable carpenters are not easy to find and valuable for any building project. Riverside Construction hit the jackpot with Kevin, whose career as a carpenter started 33 years ago. In addition to working well with subcontractors, clients, and the production crew, Kevin has honed his skills as a carpenter. His specialty is finish carpentry, especially trim work, stairs, and kitchen cabinetry.

“I always strive to do the best quality work possible including making every joint edge perfectly aligned and tight. After making a living at this for 30+ years, I figure my work speaks for itself.”

Personal Side
When Kevin isn’t working, you’ll find him emersed in woodworking projects and building furniture. He also values spending quality time with his wife. They both enjoy “antiquing” together, looking for old tools in particular.

Fun Fact
Kevin is learning to use antique woodworking tools without electricity.

Tony Springs

Tony Springs

Production Assistant

With at least 10 years of construction experience, Tony is a master at adaptability, communication, and the ability to work well under pressure.

As a Production Assistant, Tony is a behind-the-scenes leader that ensures all production tasks are executed smoothly and efficiently. This includes anything from picking up supplies for the office to delivering materials on site for the production crew. Tony oversees inventory checklists for every job, maintains the office building, and keeps the fleet vehicles and the trailer maintained so that they are 100% operational at all times.

“I think that I am best known for being reliable. I am the first to help out and the one person that everyone comes to if anything is needed. This makes me happy, as I love serving God and others, both in work and in my life overall.”

Personal Side
Tony spends most of his extracurricular time with his wife and family, raising and doting on three wonderful kids with one grandson on the way. He also values riding his motorcycle whenever he can.

Fun Fact
Tony has been fortunate to go on a few mission trips all over the world, being the hands and feet of God. He has traveled to three different continents and five different countries serving the Lord. He also graciously volunteers at Habitat for Humanity when he can, having built dozens of homes over the years.
