Newest Update on the Profit-Sharing Program

As we are reaching the end of the 1st quarter, we are looking in more detail at our profit-sharing program. Profits, if there are profits to be shared, will be shared in the 2nd payroll of April to give us time to make sure we have all of the data correct specifically the April 22nd payroll. If there are no profits to be shared this quarter, there is the possibility of making up a portion of the lost profits as the year progresses.

Trades spotlight

Lafayette Glass has been working with Riverside and Home Care and Repair since the very beginning. They provide specialty shower doors, mirrors and replacement of window glass. If you see one of the Lafayette Glass crews, take a minute to thank them!

Core Value Focus:

Accountability

We take responsibility for our results and humbly dedicate ourselves to being receptive to coaching in all aspects.

All of us participated in accountability in our year end reviews in the last couple of months. These reviews will continue to happen to allow all of us to grow as employees.

HR Benefit Reminder

Sick leave

After 90 days of full-time service, you have 16 hours of sick pay available to use. Those are granted at the beginning of the year and do not accumulate for multiple years.  Those hours are to be used to cover time the employee or a direct family member needing additional assistance is sick (ie child, parent or spouse). If no more sick time is available in a year and an employee is unable to work because of a non-job-related injury or illness, they may use vacation hours if they have the time available, or they may take leave without pay.

Work/Life Balance Tip

One way to make your vacation as enjoyable a possible is to attempt to do some proactive steps before you go away! Here are a few suggestions that may or may not apply to you!

  • Proactively complete tasks if possible and delegate tasks that can be done by others to someone who can do those tasks before you leave. Sometimes this means doing some proactive cross training with someone in a similar position.
  • Create an auto-response email letting people know when you will be returning to work and who to contact in an emergency. This allows those who don’t know that you are away where to go if they need immediate assistance.
  • Consider taking an extra day or ½ day of vacation upon returning from vacation to give yourself time to manage all “home” tasks before returning to work.
